I have a 23 wellcraft nova with a bravo drive. Took it to Sioux City this weekend and on the way home I stopped to get fuel and it wouldn't go in reverse. I made it home, but still won't go in reverse. Any suggestions?

It could be the shift cable is not adjusted correctly.

The shifter cable is attached to a fork mechanism in the top of the drive. The fork lifts or lowers a set of gears to give you forward and reverse. In the center is nuetral.

If the problem is not in the cable, you can remove the upper back cover from the drive and look for something out of place. If it is in the drive, you might want to take it to a qualified shop.

Not knowing the age of your boat, but I assume it's probably mid 90's. More than likely it the shift cable, could be out of alignment. But it's probably a bad cable. Shifts cables wear out alot and are seldom thought about throughout boat ownership until......well....it wont shift.
I would advise a trip to the shop. Should be around $150-200 parts and labor.

Just had mine replaced (on a alpha) $350 in Des Moines, but I also had to have a whole new switch, and bracket made as well.
