Hi,

My set up is1999 Scarab 33AVS , twin 502's mpi , bravo one sport drive ( looks like imco) and mercury racing labbed 30p BRAVO one 4-blades.

The boat plains quit well , but I need tabs fully down and drives completly 'IN' .
If not the props spin and the engine reves up to 5.000 rpm's without any traction.

Now my midrange and topspeed is OK , topspeed is nearly 78mph (125km/h ) on GPS.................. should I try the 5 blade łor the new P6X 's ?

Last year I hab a 1997 Baja 272 Boss , with one 502 and a std Bravo one drive.
The prop was a std Bravo one 4 blade 24p , boat plained very good , then I wanted some more topspeed and i installed a Mercury racin Mirage plus 3-blade . And it did the job , i gained 3 mph , boat was doing nearly 67mph. But with the 3 blade the błoat plained a little slower ...............

If i would go to the P5X or P6X 32p or 31p , what would be the result ? or the Mercury maximus 5-blade 32p.?

I am affraid if i would install the Mirage plus 3 blad , that my Scarab wouldn't plain at all ?

Also isn't is so , THE MORE BLADES THE LOWER THE TOPSPEED

Help me out on this one please..............THANK YOU

Your slip is in the 16% range. This means the 5-6 blade will help in improving planing and mid range. However, top speed is a toss up at this level. I would not suggest the 6 blade prop. Testing a 5 blade prop isn't a bad idea. They will help in the middle and in control. Top end will be determined by the test and I feel it will be a wash or a small loss in speed with multiple blades on your hull. 3 blades for perfect condition top speeds only.

Adjusting the current props would be the best and most cost effective idea in my opinion.

In the $350 range for the set. That's without looking at them.
