First off I am a stereo dummy, so I would like a little advice on what I have (it came with the boat) and what to do to improve some things.

Here are the basics
Alpine mrp f240

Rockford fosgate p2502
4 infinity marine 6.5's
1 kenwood sub kpc 2525dvc
stock jbl marine deck
1. the 6.5s in the bow are loud, th 2 in the cockpit are not. I would like to add an additional pair in the cockpit. Will I need to upgrade amps or am I good?
2. not real happy with the sub sound. There is no real enclosure around the sub, Should i switch to a free air type?

I have pics of the install if that would help.
Thanks
JC

1. Going to make assumptions. I assume the F240 (40x4) is powering the 4 coaxs, while the P2502 (60x2 or 250x1) is powering the sub. You can run another set of speakers off ea channel of the Alpine, & lower the ohms down to 2 per channel. But that only gives u (w/ that amp) 50wx4, which means the speakers are only getting about 25w ea. I think that would underpower the speakers as it looks like the Infinitys use 75w rms. So what i would do, is get a different 4 ch amp, like a P8004. This will give you 100x4 & if u add another set of speakers to the cockpit, it supports 200w @ 2ohm, so ea speaker is still getting the 100w on the channel.
Or you could bridge the channels on the Alpine to give u 100wx2 for the front 2 bow speakers & then get another amp to power the cockpit(s).

2. will need pics of the sub enclosure. But i dont think the 2525 is an infinite baffle sub so yes getting a different sub may improve your bass.

Christian can chime in since he seems to be the reigning stereo expert. hehe.

Baja232- you are correct the alpine is powering the coaxs and the rockford is powering the sub.

I would scrap the dual voice coil kenwood and get a mono sub mounted in an enclosure. Bridge the the fosgate and vibrate your beer off the dash. Looks like you have room enough to keep it in the same location.
