So yes I have one of those darn cruisers, but one day I will have that go fast of my dreams. For now I need to either touch up my bottom paint or have it re done. can I touch it up easy or should I just pay to have it done totally. If so, can anyone suggest a marina to have it done at down in good ole LOTO.
I have it redone every 3 - 4 years. Last few times we used Yacht Haven at the 1 MM.
I dont know how you would do an easy touch up. How old is the paint, if it has a few years on it and a few scratches too, I would say do the whole thing. For me, getting the boat out of the water is more than half the battle. While its out, do the whole thing.
I painted mine after I bought it, but before I took delivery and splashed. It was on blocks at the dealers lot. It took about an hour, but it was already power washed. This will be my 3rd season, so next year I will have to do something. I am still open to putting the boat on a lift and leaving the bottom paint alone.
Hauling it out and power washing it were no big deal. Ill call Yacht Haven and see what they say on cost.
Make sure you use lead base paint....

If you dont mind, could you report back their cost and fee structure. Sometimes a company that I cant remember advertises in one of the boating flyers at the lake.

I would say do the whole thing.....and I would add that you need to stay AWAY from The Moorings.
between 65 and 70 dollars a foot seems to be the norm. I have heard no good things about the moorings.
If you decide to do it yourself or touch it up use Interlux bottom paint. You can buy it at Paints Plus in Stover, MO. If you're not used to the area they are about 8 miles or so west of Versailles on 52 and Paints Plus is on the right as soon as you get into town. I use them for all the bottom paint, f/g, gel coat, paint etc... You said you can get it out so if you can also get the boat up in the air you can save alot of money if your up to it. Its a little messy but can be done in a few hours.
