WTF? Piercy filing a lawsuit to get his job back?

    Unbelievable.......

From teh Des Moines Register website:

    JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. —

A Missouri state trooper who was fired after he was convicted of a misdemeanor for the drowning death of a handcuffed Iowa man is suing to get his job back.

KQFX-TV reports that Anthony Piercy filed a petition last week for judicial review in Missouri's Cole County. The lawsuit claims Missouri State Highway Patrol Col. Sandra Karsten overstepped her authority in firing Piercy.

Piercy pulled 20-year-old Brandon Ellingson over on the Lake of the Ozarks for suspicion of boating while intoxicated in May 2014.

Piercy's was taking Ellingson for a breath test when the Arizona State University student tumbled into the water wearing an improperly secured life vest and drowned. Ellingson was from the Des Moines suburb of Clive.

Patrol Lt. Paul Reinsch said he couldn't comment on personnel issues.

Piercy is a pompous ass. The action referenced above and from what was on Columbia news 17 just reinforce that opinion. I rest my case.

Must be hunting for a settlement in addition to his pension.

I think that you are spot on. If I was a betting man, I would wager that this was all played out in the negotiated settlement. Almost every single thing about this case stinks.

    Henry should personally sue Piercy.

That's okay there is still room for a civil suit against Piercy if Brandon's parents want, a settlement from the state would put a little blood in that fat ass turnip.

I agree with everyone's comments, however, Piercy is merely the symptom of the disease. Heads should have rolled at a much higher level.

    Eventually they will.

It isn't like they are all going to clean up their act now. Someday they'll step into it too deep and go in over their head.

I think in most states this would qualify as "to deep" and "over their head". It has already blown over for those at the top and it will be business as usual. What would have to happen for them to clean up their act? Surly not taking bribes from special interest, getting caught red handed in a cover-up in a loss of life case, that seams to be acceptable, so what would it take?
