Looking to get out of our normal round of lakes this year. Never been to LOTO, but if what I hear and see is correct, that's the place to go. Anyone else got some suggestions. Maybe some Poker Runs?

Missouri River by Omaha and LOTO most of the time. Been to Okoboji & Yankton in the years past.
We have a poker run here in August and they are planning on for MWPB on the Mississippi.

I may be the only New Yorker here! I boat mainly on the lakes of central NY and once in a while go to 1000 Islands. Trip to LOTO this summer is a definite! [smilie=061.gif]

I'm the Houston Texas area, on the Gulf Coast. We boat in Clear Lake which feeds into Galveston Bay and then into Gulf of Mexico, so we can technically leave here for the world, depending on the boat! Clear Lake is brackish, and Galveston Bay (and the Gulf) are lower salinity than the Atlantic or the Pacific. Texas has some really nice lakes around too, and we get a group to go to some of these a few times a year. We boat a lot, between 200- 250 engine hours a year, so we're out there!! Let's go boatin'!! We boat mostly... LOTO, Lake McConaughy, Missouri River, and Lewis & Clark Lake (Yankton, SD).

It's hard to even think about boating with 12" of fresh snow. [smilie=violin] [smilie=violin]

LOTO just about every weekend from April to October. There are a few of us dragging the boats up to Chicago this summer in August for a 4 day weekend. It would be nice to meet a few boaters from this site up there. Let us know...now is the time to make plans. Come on Eddie you guys can make this run. [smilie=042.gif]

I'd love to boat in Chi town. Have to see if it works out, I got a good price on a dock at the OP show and I'll probably do that this summer as well. What are the dates again? I'm still a little worried our 25 will be a little small [smilie=077.gif]

LOTO

Boy I was out at McConaughy last month goose hunting, it is so sad to see that lake today. Arthur bay is dry. I grew up in North Platte so we used the lake a lot and it just keeps getting worse. I was shocked last year and I would bet the lake is down another 15-20% from then.

Also boated on the MO, Lake Maloney and some lake near Ft. Something or other in KS. Had a friend stationed at an army base there but can't think of the name, nice lake and very undeveloped.

My Dad lives on lake McConaughy... I haven't seen Arthur bay in three years!!! The sand is great, but they won't let you use four wheelers on it anymore either. Still the best sand beaches around... and lots of them now!!

Von Bongo... you may recognize this picture. Arthur bay is in the background. Three years ago, the water was all the way to the trees in the background... nearly a half mile away.

We typically put in the Parkside marina in Wabasha and boat North. The water quality has cleaned up in the past few years. It still has a way to go but we have a good time and have met lots of good people. [smilie=071.gif]

When the water softens in the late spring, we hit Green Bay and Winnebago. Of course, there is always a run or two to the Mississippi.

We have moved alot in the past 15 years. Started out boating in Omaha at Carter Lake, Fremont Lakes and Desota Bend with an occassional Missouri River run to Sioux City. Boated on Sherman Resevoir when we lived in Grand Island. Belonged to the Missouri river Boat Club in Sioux City and boated on the Missouri River up there. Did the Chamberlain run once or twice. Had several vacations at Okoboji. Then boated on the Mississippi when we lived in Dubuque. Moved to Des Miones and boated on Red Rock and then drove back and forth to Omaha every weekend when we boat a boat I couldn't pull with my truck. Then we moved home to Omaha and boat regularly on the Missouri River mostly south of Dodge Park. We have a slip at Bellevue Marina, still on that stupid waiting list at Dodge Park. Three years?
Every summer we take a week off and go to Table Rock and vegetate.
Every minute has been fun.

We go to our place at LOTO and we also boat with friends here on the Missouri River all around the Omaha area. South to the casinos, north to Cootonwood, and every where in between.

We're at the 10MM on the Niangua arm at LOTO just about every weekend. We're across from Bridal cave and a few miles from HaHa Tonka State Park. Looking at maybe hauling the boat to Ky Lakes and possible Grand this year.

We usually boat on Smithville Lake, which is about 30 min from where we live. Then we try to make it to LOTO 3 or 4 times during the season, our friend has a place aroun the 11mm.

Eddie,
It is the second weekend of August I believe. I checked on a couple of lifts at the OP boat show...WOW were they proud. $5,000 for a 8,000lb lift. Looks like I will be shopping for a used one. I refused to pay that kind of money for a lift. Any good leads?

It is close to the airport. The water patrol is a real pain. That was the reason for me going to Perry. We go to LOTO the most and been a few years since Clinton.

I have a friend that owns a lake house at LOTO, so sounds like I'll be spending quite a bit of time there too.

You guys need to stop wizzen in the water. It gets a little funky down this way.

The only evidence you'll find of us wizzin' in the water would be foam. [smilie=1062.gif]

Don't feel bad, it's funky up here to.
