I have seen some suction cleats that are alot like what folks use to carry granite slabs and plate glass. As long as there is flat fiberglass, these things would hold. Pop them off when you are done. Just a thought. I think that I have seen them advertised over on OSO.

It would take a little work, but I think the "cleats" on the White Lightning are clean looking and well integrated.

I am glad the damage is only cosmetic, I am surprised the hull is still completely solid. This thing was overbuilt from the factory, I am sure it is beefed up more then a normal production Scarab. I could not find ANY stress cracks or structural damage or even any signs of being weak or flexing.
    This is a stout hull!

As for color there will not be any white on the boat except for some interior pieces which I will eventually change. As mentioned the color scheme will be different than anything I have seen on a boat. It will be HOT!

Back for more fun today, hopefully the pics posted later are with a completed bottom and a boat in primer..

Looks good Derek, keep up the late nights

Not as much done today as I planned. Customers come first...
But here is what I got finished..

Since the boat already had bottom paint on it I did the needed repairs and went back with new bottom paint. It made things a lot easier getting the bottom done.

Topside is next.. Hmmm, I gotta find my HVLP gun now...

Still working on it, been busy at work and haven't had the time I wanted on it, but I am still on schedule so far. Paint work will be done by saturday and it can cure while I am boating on sunday.

Here are the last couple stages..
Wetsanded entire boat, got ready for primer, Cut holes for cleats, at least they are flush mount...
As I was saying about being overbuilt, look at how thick the deck is and the dash area, at least a full inch with coring and plenty of glass.
No wonder there were no stress cracks on this pig..

Finally in primer, I am tired of wet sanding..
You never would realize how uneven boats are until you start block sanding...
Did I mention I am tired of sanding..

Also I will mention I am not a painter or bodyman so If I do things funny it is how I learned on my own. I know about enough to get me into trouble when it comes to paint and body work..

I do kinda like the battle ship look!!

And now for some of the hardware, I can't leave anything alone..
A little powdercoating to make it a little more custom..
The cool hardware is still to come..

I have decided on a boat name as well.
I have been kicking it around for awhile now and the name I picked has several hidden meanings..
Not to mention me sweating like a pig today while wetsanding..
Being an X water patrol vessel & in memory of Roscoe P Coltrain she is named "Hot Pursuit".
When you see the boat you will figure out more of the meanings.

My oven just went ding so I am off to cook more parts....
