    Tan-Tar-A

The General and I will be driving up for the shootout in August. I noticed that the shootout's website mentioned Tan-Tar-A as a place to stay. Has anyone stayed there? Just asking because the online reviews were mixed.

    Thanks!

so so as in it's an older resort or so so as in it's dirty? I can handle old, but I'm out if it's dirty.

    Are there better options?

It really depends on the room, some of the older ones in the main building are old and clean but a little moldy smelling, the newer rooms I think are nice, and some of the cottages are nicer. so basically it is a crap shoot...
    Whats next?

I hear people love the place and some don't, but I'll tell you this, we live not far from it and they always have tons of guests.

Thanks everyone! I went ahead and booked us at Tan-Tar-A. I like to support event sponsors when I can. Plus, I don't plan on being stuck indoors for long while we are there.

We stayed at Tan Tara before we got our boat and it was really nice. The property is huge, so i can understand how there could be some rooms that are not as well kept.

I recommend putting your boat in at PB2 instead of at the resort. Their roads aren't "boat friendly"

    Can you elaborate?

Looking like we are staying at Tan Tar a for the shootout, and bringing the boat with.
6hp or 600hp, we still have fun!

The roads wind around, are narrow, steep in places, and there is one spot that is tight going under a structure.
