    Poker Run Speeders....there werent any!

LakeExpo.com's write up this morning about the Poker Run didnt mention how many boats participated or how much was raised. The story I read was about the speed limit and how the WP was out there to enforce it but wasnt able to write any tickets for speed. I can see the headline for the Poker Run next year....."No speeding tickets issued again this year for Poker Run participants".

WHAT?!?!?! You mean those pesky cee-gar type boats out there werent breaking laws, and killing people and damaging docks, and causing the worlds problems?!?!?!

Nice that their story covered what they thought was important.... nevermind the money raised and the cause.

Did WP really demand a 70 mph max speed? If so, when did this become a rule for poker runs?

I think I remember counting 5 or 6 of them on the way to Bear Bottoms.

Speed limit has always been 60 mph. They actually granted an extra 10 this year. It's been posted over and over here.

My son and I watched a few go by our place at the 34MM. My son is 5 and said that boat can go faster than that! Fun to watch but really wish we could have seen them open it up.

It's always been a rule with a regatta permit, the speed limit was 60 mph and we have been telling people for four years. This year it was 70 and they came to the meeting to let us know they would be enforcing it.

I saw the Batmobile boat go by on Sunday and it gave me goosebumps. That thing is titter than tit. Gawd I'd love a go fast boat like that.

It was one of the best poker runs I have ever been on, its not the speeds that make it great, its the people, the sponsors, and the charity

    Cant wait till next year
