    Hummingbird Moth

I had never saw or even heard of a Hummingbird Moth until today when I saw this little critter sucking on my flowers.

    Great pictures!

When I was a kid I raised and collected butterflies and moths. The Hummingbird Math is a rare one for sure and VERY fast. It is part of the Sphinx family and one of only moths that fly during the day. When they hatch from their cocoons their wings have scales on them, that is what gives the wings of butterflies and moths color. These moths flap their wings so fast the scales come off and when they are resting, their wings are clear. This was one of my favorites and only have seen them a handful of times.
Fast Boats and Hot Women or is it Hot Boats and Fast Women
