    Shoot out lodging?

We stayed at Tan Tar A last year but we looking for something between there and Dog Days. Would like slip availability. Could also do a house as there will roughly 8 of us. Any good suggestions?

We love staying at houses. Here are two that we have stayed at in the past.

    4 bedroom at the 22 MM... http://www.vrbo.com/368146

3 Bedroom at the 19.5 MM real close to Dog Days...http://www.vrbo.com/351711

Both are great properties and have good owners.
    Thanks,
    Dave

Have stayed at Bear Bottom resort twice and thinking about Tan Tar A for 2014 (more for the kids to do) but I have heard that it is no wake only zone from lynn creek to the shoot out. Seems like a long ways to me, any truth to that?

We stayed at tan tar a for the last few years of shooters and the first two years of captain rons was a great place for the price. The no wake is up river quite a ways from linn creek. I would say its about the same distance of no wake as it is from bear bottoms, depending on where on the line you tie up. And tan tara after you tie up makes a for a good spot to see all the boats going down the lake Saturday evening.

BA. Does LOTO really go to 87mm? That is like 50 miles to Cpt Rons.

I thought it was port and starboard? LOL You already admitted it. But it always makes the boards more interesting.

I stayed at Peaceful Valley resort/Papa Chubby's in their cabins for the shootout years ago and it was a great place. Their cabins are two bedroom with a loft, full kitchen, bath, living room, etc. I highly recommend them.

Are the docks at Tan Tar A protected from main channel boat traffic waves? Hate the boat getting banged up while docked.

Some are and some aren't, it's first come first serve, I think there's maybe 9-10 slips in the back and the rest are out front by the main channel.

You can reserve the covered slips that are back behind and are well protected when you reserve your room, but as long as you do not tie up before the main group leaves the shootout and in the morning before alot of the boats start heading towards the shootout and the boat is well secured and bumpered, the main dock works fine to. I have seen many boats tied up there and have no problems. If you want a covered slip I suggest making reservations as early as you can.
