    Trim Speed

Boat: Cobalt 292 Volvo 5.0 Gi Duoprop twin engine

    Issue:

Starting this season, I noticed that when trimming out with the single trim switch on the throttle each drive trims at slightly different speeds. From full up to full down the port drive takes an extra 3-4 seconds to travel the same distance.

Any tips for troubleshooting? I isolated the electrical systems with the battery switched to ensure it wasnít an battery problem.

I do have individual trim switches under the dash but the stock trim gauges arenít exactly the best at trying to sync the two drives together. At least thatís my take. Anybody know how the gauges actually work? What physical thing on the drive are they actually measuring?

There is a cable. Trailer the drive and you'll be able to see it pretty clearly.

Some variance in trim speed is pretty normal.
I don't know how the Volvo drives translate to the gauge.
