    Ezards Ace Hardware closing

Just went past Ezard's Ace Hardware in Osage Beach and they have Store Closing sign out. First Wood's and now Ezard's. I know they were more expensive than the big box stores, but sure was handy if you needed a quick whatchamacallit.

Woods owners only bought that location to get the others from Paul's with plans to close it, ezards owner had health issues and guess no interest from any buyers, much like many long time local places close for reasons other than big box

You have to be open and convenient to the people who want to go there to succeed... Since their hours are limited and customer service is non-existent, I am not surprised. Health issues may have played into it(?), but finding people to work with all the retired people coming here now cannot be that hard in that type of business???

I just don't understand why people/businesses on that side of OSB Parkway find it hard to understand they need to promote their businesses as well as serve their customers. When you need to compete with a big box, changes need to be made, find your niche. EVERYONE likes customer service and convenience. But if you fail to do that.....

I used them a lot over the years. Very knowledgeable and always had the little screws, bolts, pvc etc that I needed.

I went in once. I wanted to buy a hand-held blower and they just pointed me in their direction. No sales help to speak of. At least on the day I was in there.

Ahh, that's a bummer. I made a point to buy things there to support them. That's really terrible the big tenants will be gone from that strip.
